After only 18 months in business and launching during COVID-19 female founded, social media and search marketing agency, Part Three Digital picked up a golden Spider for ‘Small Agency of the Year’ at The Spider Awards at the Mansion House in Dublin last Thursday. The Spiders are the most prestigious and longest running digital awards in Ireland, this year marked their 25th anniversary recognising companies and individuals driving digital excellence.

Former colleagues, Jess Orr Downey and Hannah Bryans teamed up to launch Part Three Digital, a Belfast based digital marketing agency 18 months ago, in that time they have cultivated a six-figure business, partnering with progressive brands to deliver growth in local, national and international markets, including Santa Rita Wine Estates, Magners Irish Cider, [yellow tail], Danone and Xtratherm. They have been recognised as finalists at a number of industry awards including The Digital DNA Awards, Women in Business Northern Ireland Awards, The Digital Media Awards and are now winners at The Spider Awards.

Speaking about their recent accolade, Jess said, “Winning a Spider was on the list of goals we had for our agency this year, so when we got shortlisted as finalists for two categories, we were beside ourselves with excitement. Being such prestigious awards, the competition was incredible, we are so grateful to be recognised as finalists and winners. Small Agency of the Year recognises our achievements to date, including business growth, delivering market leading campaigns, celebrating our ethos and plans for the future.”

“When you’re on the same winning list as brands like Revolut and Guinness, you know you’re doing something right! I am so proud of what the team has achieved in just 18 months and what the future holds for us. We have avoided taking the ‘holistic approach’ to digital marketing in favour of a real focus on what are clients need and what we’re great at – delivering results through social media and search marketing,” Hannah added.

When the Spider Awards first launched 25 years ago, the internet and websites were the prime focus recognising the early adopters of new technology. Since then, digital transformation has impacted every corner of the modern world and the Spiders aim to award the leaders of this digitalisation. “It’s a clicheì to say digital is ever-changing but it really is. There’s always an algorithm change or a new social platform to keep us on our toes and force us to sharpen our skills. We see this as an opportunity to do bigger and better things for our clients. We encourage our clients to stay in beta, to be competitive and to continuously innovate,” said Jess.

This year’s Spider awards focused on the theme ‘Driving Digital, Emerging Stronger’ in celebration of the brands and organisations that have continually adapted ways of working and engaged with their communities throughout the year. On the key to Part Three Digital’s success, Hannah said, “Being easy to work with is a massively underrated career skill – but we believe this is what sets our agency apart from others. We are proactive in helping our clients and making their lives easier. Being female founded, we intend to create an environment where women can smash their career goals. We have recently started our journey towards being a bronze certified business with Diversity Mark, we are committed to building a more diverse and inclusive workplace.”
