Eamonn Holmes is calling on people across Northern Ireland to get the festive feeling to help raise vital funds for Friends of the Cancer Centre.
The Belfast born TV presenter, who is patron of Friends of the Cancer Centre, is getting behind the charity’s Wear Something Festive campaign and he wants you to follow in his footsteps. All you have to do is get your family, friends, work mates or school together to rock your favourite Christmas jumper, Santa hat, silly socks or anything else suitably festive to raise vital funds to support people affected by cancer in Northern Ireland.
Rocking his very own Christmas jumper in a special Video message for the charity, Eamonn said:
“You should really be involved as you can have fun doing it. You can wear a fancy hat, a funny beard, you can wear festive socks, you can do whatever you want, but by signing up you can pledge money to help people in Northern Ireland affected by cancer. Please do it. Make it a happy Christmas.”
Friends of the Cancer Centre, based at the heart of the Cancer Centre at Belfast City Hospital, is one of Northern Ireland’s leading cancer charities working to support local cancer patients and their families by enhancing the care and support they receive at every stage of their cancer journey. The charity does this by supporting life-saving and life-changing work in the areas of patient care, patient comfort and care, and research.
Colleen Shaw, chief executive of Friends of the Cancer Centre, said:
“Our Wear Something Festive campaign is a great way for people to have a little fun with family and friends in the run up to Christmas and raise vital funds to support our work in the process. Eamonn has been really supportive and we’re delighted that he has got behind our Christmas campaign to encourage others to get involved with the charity. All the money raised through our Wear Something Festive campaign will help cancer patients and their families across Northern Ireland, this Christmas and beyond.”
