The Daily Mirror May Day race meeting is set to take place this Monday, 6th May at Down Royal Racecourse.

Daily Mirror May Day Meeting

The most valuable contest on the 7-race national hunt card is the €20,000 Daily Mirror Handicap Steeplechase at 4.30pm. It has attracted a highly competitive field of 10 runners with the Gordon Elliott trained Veinard Heads expected to head the market and could return to the winner’s enclosure off a mark only 1lb higher than when successful at Ayr in February.

The first race off at Down Royal will be at 2.10pm and the going at the track is good.

Gates open at 12 noon. Admission is £12 and tickets are available at the turnstiles on arrival. Children under 16 go free and free car parking is available.
