East Belfast had a derby to chew on, and Crusaders left The Oval with all three points.
Owen Wardell and Aaron Reid scored for the visitors as Crusaders beat Glentoran 2-1 at the BetMcLean Oval on Saturday 29 August in the Irish Premiership. Ben Gallagher levelled for the Glens before Reid restored the lead.
Belfast, late afternoon, no gift
Wardell put Crusaders in front before the break. Gallagher equalised on 69 minutes. Aaron Reid then edged the Crues back in front, and Declan Caddell’s side saw it out.
Full time at The Oval: Glentoran 1-2 Crusaders.
For Glentoran it is a second league defeat of the season and a sore one on home soil after the Big Two loss at Windsor. For Crusaders it is a third win from four and a result that puts them right in the early mix.
