LEAH Totton has been crowned the winner of The Apprentice 2013. The N.Irish doctor was told she would become Lord Sugar’s business partner in tonight’s all-female Apprentice finale.
Leah, who is the ninth winner of the BBC1 show, bagged £250,000 to inject into her cosmetic procedures business.
But she didn’t get things all her own way, as Lord Sugar decided to ditch the name ‘NIKS Medical’ in favour of his own suggestion ‘Dr Leah’.
The 25-year-old, who triumphed over cake shop boss and pal Luisa Zissman, secured her new business partner despite his earlier worries about the ethics of her firm.
And she later addressed his concerns, saying: “I want to ensure these treatments are carried out in a medical environment by properly trained medical professionals.
“I’m a woman and I’m interested in appearance. It worried me to see these procedures done by people who are not medically trained. “We need to be clear I’m not going into this to encourage women to have these treatments, the market is already there.”
Lord Sugar also spoke after the final about the reasons behind his final decision. He said: “We had two great candidates in the last two, but I think that in the case of Luisa she has three businesses already. “I didn’t feel guilty in any form in choosing Leah.”
Congratulations to the new Apprentice winner Leah. Make sure you're following her for all news @DrLeahTotton
