Adam Frizzell, Chris Shields and Kobei Moore score as David Healy’s side draw level with Coleraine at the top of the table.
Linfield delivered one of their strongest performances of the season at the Showgrounds, beating Coleraine 3–1 to join the Bannsiders at the top of the table.
The Blues were two goals up inside the opening half-hour and rarely allowed the league’s most prolific attack to settle. Adam Frizzell struck after nine minutes, captain Chris Shields added a spectacular second, and Kobei Moore scored his first Linfield goal shortly before the hour. Matthew Shevlin pulled one back late on, but Coleraine’s unbeaten run ended at 14 matches.

Linfield take control early
Kyle McClean spotted an opening from a free-kick and released Frizzell behind the Coleraine defence. The midfielder drove his shot high past Lewis Webb from the edge of the area to give Linfield a ninth-minute lead.
Frizzell almost created a second moments later, crossing for Moore, whose close-range header went straight to Webb. Linfield kept pressing and were rewarded when an Ethan McGee long throw was cleared only as far as Shields. The captain met it first time from around 25 yards and sent a volley into the roof of the net.
Coleraine, despite their impressive scoring record this season, went into half-time without a shot on target. Ruaidhri Higgins made changes at the break and the hosts appeared to have found a way back when Shevlin headed in Ben Doherty’s corner. Referee Evan Boyce disallowed the effort and awarded Linfield a free-kick.
The visitors took it quickly and, in the move that followed, Moore beat his marker and placed a low finish into the corner. Instead of facing a one-goal deficit, Coleraine were suddenly 3–0 down. Higgins later described the disallowed goal as a poor decision, while also acknowledging that his team’s overall performance had fallen short.

Shevlin did get on the scoresheet with 14 minutes remaining, controlling Levi Ives’s pass and finishing from close range for his fifth goal of the season. Linfield held firm through the closing stages to secure back-to-back wins and hand Coleraine their first home defeat in 10 months.
A result with weight at the top
The scoreline matters, but the manner of the win will please Healy just as much. Linfield were alert from the first whistle, made better use of the ball and defended with the discipline needed to frustrate a dangerous Coleraine side. The disputed decision after half-time was a major talking point; it does not erase how convincingly the Blues controlled the opening 45 minutes.
Healy said afterwards that his players would enjoy beating a strong opponent without getting carried away. For Coleraine, the response now matters. For Linfield, this was a reminder that they intend to be right in the title conversation.
Final score: Coleraine 1–3 Linfield
Scorers: Shevlin; Frizzell, Shields, Moore.
