It was girls’ night with a Galantine’s twist in Belfast last night (Tuesday 13 February), as friends turned out in force for a special BFF Movie Night with West Coast Cooler.

The iconic Irish wine cooler brand brought West Coast Cooler fans and their BFFs together for a special Galentine’s screening of retro 90s rom com, Never Been Kissed at Strand Arts Centre.

Guests were treated to popcorn and snacks, served with a chilled West Coast Cooler in its new ready-to-drink can format.

A light-hearted pre-screening Q&A hosted by Q Radio presenter Jordan Arnold, featuring friends and content creators, Abbie Parkinson and Emma Jane Mooney, warmed up the crowd, as the trio discussed dating disasters, throwback fashion woes, and the generation gap between Millennials and Gen Z, reflecting the movie’s themes.

Commenting on the BFF movie night, Michelle Fox, brand manager for West Coast Cooler said:“West Coast Cooler has been at the heart of girls’ nights out since the 80s. Now, in its new-look can format, the brand is undergoing a renaissance, attracting a new generation of fans that love it just as much. Pairing our iconic wine cooler with a classic feel-good rom com was the perfect recipe for a girls’ night out that brought our West Coast Cooler tribe together with their BFFs to mark Galentine’s Day.”

Speaking at the event, Q Radio presenter, Jordan Arnold said: “West Coast Cooler has been at the heart of girls’ night for me and my friends for as long as I can remember, so it was great fun to host this special BFF Movie Night with a little help from my friends Emma and Abbie. It may be almost 25 years since Never Been Kissed first hit cinema screens, but Drew Barrymore’s characterisation of the generation style gap and trying to stay ‘down with the kids’ makes this a movie with a message as relevant as if it was produced today.”

Galentine’s Day (February 13th) is becoming an increasingly popular holiday in celebration of women from all generations and walks of life and the unbreakable bond they share.
