Stellify Media, the Sony Pictures Television-owned, Belfast-based TV production company, behind hits such as Who Wants to Be A Millionaire…?, Secret Body, Beauty Queen and Single, Farm To Feast, Blind Date, Flinch, There’s No Place Like Tyrone, and their newest digital commission, Get In The Van, was last week crowned 2nd Place in Broadcast Magazine’s “Best Places to Work 2023”.

For Stellify Media, this year’s recognition was particularly special, given that the Indie, led by Co-Founders Matthew Worthy and Kieran Doherty, and now in its 9th year of business, with 19 staff, was the only Northern Irish production company to make the top 10 amongst the 44 companies that were surveyed to recognize and honor the best places of employment in the television industry, benefiting the industry’s economy, workforce, and businesses. This prestigious awards programme began in 2015 and is promoted by Broadcast Magazine, the essential source for business information about the British TV Industry, at home and around the world.

As one of the peak performers, Stellify were consistently praised for their corporate ethos and principles that have helped turn their business into a brilliant employer – with special recognition for their work environment, role satisfaction, pay and benefits, opportunities for hybrid working, staff celebrations and diversity, which was incredibly important to the Company, who currently has a 5% diverse workforce, a proud achievement considering they are based in Northern Ireland. They are even more determined for that number to grow. They are also proud to run their annual paid summer intern scheme for anyone over the age of 18 currently living in Northern Ireland who has a love of TV. They’ve been doing it for five years now and have had amazing interns who all remain in the industry today. Apprenticeship-wise, they are lucky enough to benefit from the incredible Aim High scheme run by Northern Ireland Screen.

Vikkie Taggart, Director of Operations at Stellify Media said: “We are delighted to be announced as Silver in Broadcast Best Places to work in TV 2023, this award means so much to us as it is based on the feedback from our staff. We have worked hard to create a family culture at Stellify and promote a healthy work/life balance, for us the wellbeing of our team is paramount so that when we succeed we do so as a unit. We strive to cultivate new talent, promote growth and support all our employees so every individual feels valued and most importantly enjoys their work. After all we would not be the company we are today without our incredible staff!”
