Theatre at The Mill and The Courtyard Theatre are delighted to welcome back two of Belfast’s favourite actors Gerard McCarthy and Nuala Mckeever with their one-person shows.
Nuala Mckeever will star in two of Alan Bennett’s classic Talking Heads monologues, A Lady of Letters; and Her Big Chance Tuesday 17 to Saturday 21 February. Gerard McCarthy takes the lead in the musical comedy CAT, Monday 23 to Saturday 28 February.
McKeever, who has starred in a number of the theatre’s own productions including Carol’s Christmas, Tinseltown, and Sweeney Todd, will take on challenging new roles in two of Alan Bennett’s classic Talking Heads monologues including, A Lady of Letters and Her Big Chance. The Belfast born star will play Irene Ruddock, a single woman who lives alone following the death of her mother, when her habit of letter writing spirals out of control. In the second Monologue, she will play Lesley, a minor actress earnestly seeking that elusive big break when she lands a role in a video set on a Yacht, but things are not exactly as they seem.”
Hollyoaks star Gerard McCarthy, who also starred in Dracula at the Theatre at the Mill, tries his hand at the musical comedy, CAT. This one-man show is a brand new comedy about the greatest musical theatre star that never got to shine, now, finally making it to the Courtyard Theatre. Cat isn’t so much a love letter to musical theatre…more a death threat!
