The Belfast Giants have renewed with Sports Pro Travel as official travel partner for 2026/27 — a fifth straight season with the Belfast specialist that moves the team. Sister company Sports Entertainment Tours stays on as a club sponsor, with away packages and hospitality for supporters.
Sports Pro Travel will again cover flights, ground transport and accommodation across the fixture list as the reigning back-to-back champions push for a third Motorpoint Elite Ice Hockey League title. The two organisations have already worked together across four full seasons; this renewal marks year five of the partnership.
Sports Pro Travel on the road
Sports Pro Travel is the professional-team arm — complex itineraries for players and staff. Beyond the Giants, the company also looks after travel for Ireland hockey, cricket and rowing, and for the Nottingham Panthers. Managing director John Boyde — also MD of Sports Entertainment Tours — runs a Belfast-born business the desk has covered since the Sports Pro Travel launch and its wider NI sport work, including Netball Northern Ireland.
“We’re proud to welcome Sports Pro Travel back as the club’s official travel partner. Travel is a hugely important part of what we do throughout the season, and having an experienced and trusted partner alongside us makes a real difference to the team,” said Steve Thornton, Sports Director at The Odyssey Trust. “Sports Pro Travel understands the demands of professional sport and the importance of ensuring our players and staff can focus on performing at their best. We’re really pleased to continue our relationship and look forward to working closely with the team at Sports Pro Travel throughout the season.”
Sports Entertainment Tours stays on
Sports Entertainment Tours continues as a Giants sponsor and the fan-facing sister brand — dedicated travel packages and hospitality around away games and other fixtures. LoveBelfast previously covered the 2023/24 SET partnership, a longer-running media partnership with Sports Entertainment Tours, and SET’s role as official travel partner of the Elite League.
“Sponsoring the Belfast Giants means something different to us than the Belfast Giants team travel. As a Belfast-born business, we take real pride in what the Belfast Giants have achieved and what they mean to this city,” said John Boyde, Managing Director of Sports Pro Travel and Sports Entertainment Tours. “We’re sports enthusiasts ourselves, and standing behind a team bringing this level of success and pride to Belfast is something we’re genuinely proud to be part of for another season.”
