Belfast artist, educator and writer Aly Harte has has just returned from attending the annual SmallBiz100 Blue Tie event in London, having been named as the only Belfast business owner in the UK’s top ‘Small Biz 100’ by Small Business Saturday. She has been selected as a trailblazer in the official countdown to Small Business Saturday on 1 December 2018.

Aly’s achievements and her contribution to the local community will be celebrated and spotlighted on ‘Aly Harte Day’ which is scheduled for Friday 2 November when the Small Business Saturday bus tour will be visiting a ‘bus stop’ in Belfast. This is part of the campaign’s mission to celebrate small business success and encourage us to ‘shop local’ and support small businesses.

Aly Harte said: “I’m absolutely thrilled to be named among such wonderful small business champions celebrating the success of independently owned businesses throughout the UK.  I’m committed to building my relationships with small business owners and believe that with collaboration we can certainly have a positive impact on the local economy. I’m really looking forward to waking up on ‘Aly Harte Day’ in November and on that day I’ll be providing special offers specifically suited to small business owners.”

The 2018 Small Biz 100 list is drawn from every corner of the UK and reflects the vibrancy of the UK’s 5.5 million small businesses, having featured an innovative range of unique independent businesses each year since the iconic campaign began in 2013.

Director of Small Business Saturday UK, Michelle Ovens, said: “The launch of the Small Biz 100 marks the exciting countdown to Small Business Saturday 2018. We are thrilled to highlight the dynamic, creative and inspiring small businesses from across the country, as part of our campaign to celebrate and champion the success of the UK’s small businesses. The Small Biz 100 showcases the companies at the heart of the UK’s economy, which we need to support now more than ever.”
