Company celebrates the opening of fifth store in Ireland

ONE of Ireland’s leading online bathroom retailers, Bathshack, has invested £100k in a new and stunning showroom in Lisburn, the company’s fifth store in Ireland, adding three more staff to their 50 employees with the aspiration to grow further.

The new 10,000 sq. ft. showroom and warehouse facility, located in Laganside Business Park, officially opened to the public on Wednesday 14th August, stocking hundreds of tiles, wooden floors and bathroom supplies, as well as the bespoke and fully customisable Josef Martin range, exclusive to Bathshack.

Speaking about the company’s expansion into Lisburn, Managing Director, Peter Dunlop said, “Our Belfast showroom has been a huge success since it opened in 2013. Located at Dargan Crescent, the showroom is convenient for customers North of the City but we also wanted a location that would be appropriately located for those customers South of Belfast, as well as helping us extend our reach into counties Down and Armagh. Lisburn is a thriving City and when the opportunity arose to open a showroom there, we took it.”

Mayor of Lisburn & Castlereagh City Council, Councillor Alan Givan said: “I am delighted to welcome Bathshack to the Lisburn Castlereagh area, which is ideally located on the main north-south economic corridor.  The council is committed to significantly investing in our area over the next decade in terms of growing the local economy, improving infrastructure and supporting businesses and communities. We welcome the employment that Bathshack is bringing to the city and wish Peter and his team every success in this new showroom.”

Bathshack currently exports 10% and 30% respectively to Great Britain and the Republic of Ireland and is actively increasing their business in Great Britain through online sales and large projects, recently completing a 40-bedroom accommodation project in London. The company is hopeful this figure will continue to rise in the next year, with plans to open physical stores in Great Britain, as well as additional stores in the Republic of Ireland.

In the 10 years since the company was established, Peter explains how the industry has changed and how Bathshack is adapting to those changes; “Nowadays, customers are more savvy – they are spending more time online researching products before purchasing with value for money continuing to be the most important factor. That’s why our full catalogue is available to view on our website and to ensure we maintain our competitive prices and excellent service to customers, we continually source new products and ranges from reputable factories across the world. Being responsive is key within this industry.”

In addition to the Lisburn showroom, Bathshack also has stores in Ballymena, Belfast, Cork and Dublin.

Established initially as an online retailer of bathrooms in 2009 at the height of the recession, Peter started trading from his father’s warehouse in Glarryford. Since then, Bathshack has transitioned into a multi-million-pound company and one-stop-shop for the provision of premier bathroom furniture. Bathshack’s extensive and high-quality product range now

includes tiles, wooden floors, mirrors, heating and accessories, all of which are steadily becoming hugely sought after products within the business.
