The Stena Line Belfast Giants are incredibly proud to announce that the final total raised for the ‘Bleed Teal For Tom’ campaign is £23,212.50!
The Giants, on Friday 6th February, hosted a truly special and memorable night in support of Tom Simpson who, along with his family, is a long-time Giants fan and suffers from a rare blood disorder. The fundraising campaign was thanks to the efforts of Giants Captain Adam Keefe and Laura Small and involved the team wearing exclusive jerseys on the night in their Elite League game against the Cardiff Devils, raffle tickets being sold for a prize draw as well as many other initiatives that we are so grateful for.
We have been overwhelmed by the support by our own fans as well as around the Elite League and throughout the hockey world – with a special thank you to the Braehead Clan, whose fans collect money for the Bleed Teal For Tom campaign at their home game against the Giants on Saturday 7th February.
A GIANT thank you goes to all who supported and gave money to the campaign as well as to those who gave prizes. Here are a few words from Paul & Linda Simpson, Tom’s parents:
“We want to thank everyone for the love, kindness and amazing generosity shown to Tom and us as a family. The support right across the league has been overwhelming and we feel truly humbled. Tom will never forget the night the Giants gave to him and the donations received will make his time away from home while he receives his treatment a lot easier. We especially have to thank Adam Keefe and Laura Small for making this happen. We are just so proud to be part of this amazing hockey family.”
