This Saturday and Sunday sees the Stena Line Belfast Giants on the road as they face the Sheffield Steelers in back-to-back Elite League games. Both games will take place at the Sheffield Arena with Saturday’s face-off 7pm & Sunday’s face-off 5pm.
The Giants will be without Player/Coach Derrick Walser for both games as he is forced to serve a two game suspension following this week’s DOPS ruling. The defenceman is in the top ten point scorers in the Elite League with one goal and nine assists in eight games so far this season and Walser has been preparing his team this week for the big games in Sheffield this weekend:
“We’ve had to make adjustments due to injury and suspension. Although we’re a team with three full lines & five ‘D’ rolling and from watching Sheffield I know that they are mostly rolling three lines & six ‘D’. There is no excuses – we just need to go there and play our game.”
“I honestly believe this is going to be huge weekend for us, I believe the guys are going to step up and play extra hard this weekend and we’ll see what happens.”
